Mom's The Word Maternity + Chewbeads Review

Hey ladies!

I had the pleasure of reviewing a cutesy maternity company based out in California called Mom's The Word. Their online boutique is extensive and impressive, but they also feature two store locations in Palo Alto & San Fransico.

Mom's the Word Maternity carries dresses, tops, pants, activewear, swimswear (so cute!), intimates, nursing, and accessories; A LOT of awesome stuff to go browse for hours (your husband will understand). Their brands range from Seraphine to Ingrid & Isabel to Rosie Pope to Isabella Oliver to JUST GO LOOK!
Can I mention that their About Us section is absolutely adorable? Their staff was so sweet to communicate with.
Also, by joining their mailing list, you will receive 10% off right away!

I had the chance to review the Duchess Dot Dress by Seraphine which was worn by Kate Middleton during one of her shopping ventures late into her pregnancy.  I can see why Kate chose this dress as its super elegant with a casual-cute twist.

This dress is not only a maternity dress, but its also a nursing dress which can be worn well after the baby is born-something I really like when I am shopping maternity. After all, who wants to pay lots of money for a dress that is ONLY maternity?

The dress features a faux wrap on the side which is adorable. I noticed that it flattered my bump with the polka dotted print. Some wrap dresses can be awkward, but with this dress, that is certainly not the case. I also enjoyed the 3/4 sleeve because I can wear it with a jacket or go without one if I please. The dress stops right at the knees which leaves room for modesty.

To simply put it, this dress is simply royalty!

Notice that adorable necklace I am wearing?
Well, I also had the chance to review Chewbeads!

Chewbeads are a line of jewelry designed to be cute enough for moms to wear, but smart enough to soothe and entertain teething babies!

The Chewbeads that I wore were the Perry style in turquoise. The whole line is made of 100% silicone that does not contain any harmful chemicals such as BPAs, lead, or PVC. Don't worry about your toddler or baby breaking these because they actually snap right off! Chewbeads can also be easily washed with warm water or wiped with a washcloth. Mom's the Word also features the Hudson style and the Greenwich style.

Upon trying them on, I was surprised at how lightweight they were. I actually chewed on them myself to test them out thoroughly! No indentations or markings were left so they definitely hold up to some good heavy duty use. I cannot wait to try these with my son once he is born!

Everly Grey Maternity Review

Good afternoon ladies!

Today, I would like to introduce to you an online and in store maternity boutique called Everly Grey.
Everly Grey was created in 2009 with the modern and fashionable mom-to-be in mind. The line has been seen in Pregnancy & Newborn magazine numerous times and the line has been favorited by celebrities none other than Janary Jones, Tori Spelling, Megan Fox, and Alyssa Milano-just to name a few. The brand offers maternity wear ranging from tops, dresses, pants, sweaters, jackets, and even nursing tops! They also offer a couple of diaper bags that are so stylish, you would not even know it is for diapers!

I had the awesome chance of reviewing not one but TWO beautiful dresses for Everly Grey.

The first pick was a new arrival called the Maddie Tuxedo Dress. This dress can go two ways: fancy or casual. To me, that is worth any price! To think that I can wear this to work or wear out on a date makes this dress versatile.

The dress stops right above the knee which leaves plenty of room for modesty and room to breathe (haha!). It features an adorable mock collar with tuxedo detail, perfect for a holiday party. The dress was well fitting towards the top and hung loosely at the bump which was nice.

The next dress that I had the chance to review was the Jill Dress w/Belt.
Anyone who knows me personally KNOWS how much I LOVE a maxi dress. Pregnancy itself is super flattering in a maxi. This dress was cut beautifully. I felt like a Greek Goddess! Haha.

The fabric on this dress was super soft, but it was not clingy which was great since most of my weight gain has been in my bottom and hips! It toned down my enhanced bust but flattered it at the same time.
This is totally a date night dress to woo your husband!

The dress featured this adorable jeweled belt that ties around the back. The colors match well with the grey fabric of the dress itself. The beads did not give a cheap or hurried look to the dress, but harmonized with the empire waist. This dress was definitely my favorite by far!

If you are not a grey fan, no worries! This dress also comes in blue!

For following Diary of a Fit Mommy and being the fantastic readers you are, I have teamed up with Everly Grey to offer you your very own Jill Dress!! Enter the giveaway below for your chance to win!

Upon browsing all of Everly Grey's collection, I am very happy that I stumbled onto this boutique!
I can see why celebrities love this line so much!

Gwyneth Paltrow's No Fry Fries

No-Fry Fries

Recipe courtesy of My Father’s Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family & Togetherness by Gwyneth Paltrow

These baked potato sticks are a great substitute when you want the flavor of fries without the deep-fry effect on your health.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 large russet potatoes (2/3 lb each), peeled
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3/4 teaspoon coarse sea salt

PREPARATION

  1. Heat oven to 450°. Cut potatoes in half horizontally; cut each half into 1/3-inch-thick fries and place in a bowl of cold water. Remove from water and dry thoroughly. Toss with oil and sprinkle with salt. Place fries on a cookie sheet. Roast until browned and cooked through, turning occasionally, 25 minutes.
