Introducing The Plus Sized Barbie

ht plus size barbie kb 131230 16x9 608 Plus Size Barbie Sparks Online Debate Over Body Image

I saw this on ABC.com this morning and I was little shocked.
Should companies produce a plus sized Barbie?
Traditionally, it is not what we see in a "Barbie."
Barbie, is after all, perfect.

I personally am for neither Barbie.
While the plus size promotes obesity, the traditional Barbie as we know it, promotes perfection. We all know that perfection does not exist and will not ever exist. It gives young girls the wrong idea: size 0 waist, big breasts, perfect butt, straight teeth, dazzling blue eyes, and glitzy hair.
The plus size Barbie is rounder at the waist by far, double chin, and multiple enlarged features. She is not a good example either. I am not sure if this Barbie would tell young girls that its "ok" to be obese or that it is "ok" to not be perfect.

Here is my idea of the right/realistic Barbie (see right):

Lets face it.
We cant all be 5'10", size 00, and bleached blonde.
However, we should not be obese & unhealthy in that aspect either.

My Secret Weapon for Hair Growth!

If you have never heard of this stuff, be prepared to be amazed. Biotin is a vitamin that makes your hair grow incredibly faster. Biotin is mainly needed for protein synthesis and fatty acid production-this is why its so vital to your hair, skin, & nails. Back in the day, when I worked at GNC, we sold this stuff and I had a customer swear by it. So, I gave it a try myself!

Lo and behold, my hair grew and grew.. and grew! But not only did it grow faster, it was more lush and shiner than ever. The health was restored to my broken ends! I also noticed that my nails grew lots and chipped less. Biotin is pretty affordable at around $7 per bottle and you can find it anywhere.

It is certainly worth a try!

"Pregnancy Is Not Beautiful"

I heard a comment the other day that stuck with me and that really struck a cord: "Pregnancy is not beautiful. I hated being pregnant."

I tried to ignore it. After all, everyone has a right to their own opinion.

At 35 weeks pregnant, I cannot sleep at night or get comfortable. I have lower back pains that have me whimpering to my husband at times. My sciatica pain runs from my lower back down to my knees. I cannot breathe at times when simply sitting. And I cannot eat a full meal anymore.
This might seem far from beautiful nor do I "like" these side effects.

But when I feel this little boy kick inside my blossoming tummy, all of the pains and discomforts melt away. My worries about whether or not I will get my abs back after birth simply fade far from the corners of my mind.

How can this creation not be beautiful?

Some women fear pregnancy because of the way their bodies will change. They are afraid of stretch marks, scars, pain, loose skin, and the act of giving birth. I have once heard a comment from a vain women who once stated that she would rather opt for a c-section so that she wouldn't be "ruined" down there. I've heard other comments from women calling pregnancy "disgusting" and stating they rather not get pregnant due to losing their pre-pregnancy bodies.

Those marks are your pride. Those imperfections are worth it. They tell a story. Embrace them.

Since when did we lose touch with what we, as women, were meant to do?
Our bodies were made for this purpose.

We give the gift of life. It does not get more beautiful than that.
