Tonight, my husband and I went on a really nice date out on the town.
We had a tasty dinner, a lovely walk on a pier, and enjoyed various shops.
But when we got home, I had something special planned. I wanted to reconnect with him-to show him that I put him above all else-to SERVE him. By doing so, I chose to wash his feet. I chose this way because of Jesus's example in the Bible in John chapter 13 when he chose to wash his disciples feet. Washing another's feet is a sign of humility, by helping others, when we perform it as Christ instructs us-doing kind acts towards our brethren. After I washed my husband's feet-he washed mine. It was a special and simple gesture of love and acceptance towards each other. I even went out of my way and got a pumice stone and scrubbed his feet! (haha!) He really enjoyed it and so did I. I would recommend this to all couples who want to renew or revive your servitude towards your mate.
"If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. " (John 13:14)
