Food Prepping 101

When trying to eat clean, food prepping is one of my best tips to do so.
When your food is already ready to go, its hard to say no. Hence, why we jump quickly at the thought of fast food.

I set out one day per week to do my prepping which is usually Saturday or Sunday.

The best prepped meal, to me, is always:
Chicken, broccoli, rice, asparagus, or sweet potato.
You can alwayssss switch it up though!

It usually takes about 3 hours but thats not a whole lot of time considering you are doing this for the week. These are also actually good to freeze as well-if you wanted.

When grocery shopping, buy a huge bag of frozen chicken breasts ($7). Buy a bag of brown or white rice (brown is better) ($2).  Buy 3 sweet potatoes ($2) And 1 head of broccoli ($2).
Total cost?
$13!
For lunch for the WEEK!
Who says eating healthy is expensive????

My favorite recipe for the above items?
Chicken- Marinate chicken breasts in light zesty Italian dressing & soy sauce for 4 hours. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Bake at 350 degrees till well done.
Rice- Boil rice in a pot or make in a rice cooker.
Bake sweet potatoes at 350 degrees till done. (I eat mine without any condiments because they're already so tasty!)
Broccoli-Boil or bake! I personally love to bake. I even add sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, & pepper!

Store a serving of each into a plastic Tupperware container and eat whenever!

For breakfast, you can do some prepping as well!

You can DIY your own breakfast smoothie packs. These are so easy and all you need is your favorite fruit, spinach (I love kale, personally), and frozen yogurt cubes! Put these into zip lock baggies and freeze! Pull when ready!

Here are some other examples of breakfast prep. All you have to do is wrap and freeze!

  1. When freezing the egg and sandwich do you just thaw in microwave, and it tastes ok?
