Motivational Monday: Maria's Story

Hi ladies! To kick off my new daily series, here is an inspirational story from a reader whom did not let her medical diagnosis stop her from achieving her weight loss goals!
"I've always been a bit bigger than I should be and being diagnosed with grade 2 spondylolisthesis when I was 17 definitely made things worse for me. I was in so much pain at times that even walking hurt, so I just ended up sitting in front of the TV or computer most of the time. This paired up with eating out of boredom made my weight climb up and up and up. Two years ago I decided that I've had enough of the pain and started working out and eating right. It was all going incredibly well until July that year, when I hit my back and all the pains came back triple (I actually fractured my spine!). As I was back to square one, all the weight just snuck right back in. The sight of myself made me want to cry and as a New Year's resolution for 2013 I got back into it all and I'm still on the same track! So far I've lost roughly 30lbs and I'm aiming to lose another 18lb or so to reach my goal.

My main inspiration has been the paralympians. My other half once said to me, "Just look at these people. If they can achieve the Olympics with missings limbs, you can do anything.". It really hit me and he's absolutely right, my condition is nothing compared to what all these athletes have!
The whole story and a lot more can be found on my blog http://pandasway.blogspot.co.uk/ "
