Lovin' My Son's Hipster Fashion Style? Check Out Young Buck Beanies!

Since having a boy, I have been searching high and low for the cutest baby boy apparel around... and then I came across Young Buck beanies... and I fell in LOVE!

Taylor Guzman and her sister Alex started Young Buck shortly after Taylor's son Max was born. It was late summer and she was wanting to find Max a lightweight beanie to wear in warmer temperatures.

As she searched the web, she couldn't find much.  After searching high and low, a light bulb switch went on in her head. Taylor finally put my sewing skills to use after completing 4 units of sewing in 4-H as a child. She also knew that her sister, who at time was still living at home with their mom, was fresh with her sewing skills because she spent many hours helping their mom sew her quilts.

So one day, Taylor pitched the idea to her sister Alex and she said okay, let’s do it. She was a great Auntie from day one. With their mother Cathy’s sewing machine at their disposal and too many old unworn t-shirts in the drawer, for the first time they constructed the YB beanie.

They fell in love with their beanie design and thought, “how fun would it be to start our own business and sell our beanies?”

They discovered that Instagram was becoming a huge networking opportunity for small businesses to market their product. After coming up with their brand name, logo and mastering their product, they launched Young Buck in November 2013 with Taylor's son Max being their inspiration. Talk about frustration, mastering their slouch beanie came with errors galore and constant changes to improve, which are still happening.

Young Buck's main mission is to create beanies that stay on your head, made from good recovery material that won’t stretch over time. Their beanies are 100% handmade including the tags (on the inside of each tag there is Colorado flag, showing that they are a Colorado proud brand).

Their beanies range from kid XS 16” and go up to adult XL 24”. Yes!! You and your baby can match!!

Size charts are listed with every beanie online and are also available to look at on their IG shop named @youngbuckshop. They recently added the knotted newborn beanie measuring at 15”. as well! Young Buck also has a recycled line that includes one of a kind kid beanies sewn from newly used t-shirts.

My son and I had the chance to review the Young Buck beanie in Heather Gray.

We also had the chance to review the blue striped beanie! This one was a thinner and softer material. I absolutely loved it! The slouched beanie look on my son was so adorable and it made me giddy that cute things actually exist for boys!!! So hipster.
