How to Transform Your Body Through Pregnancy

Before I got pregnant, I was around 127lbs or so. I had gained some weight after my divorce and when I met Grady (happy pounds!) and I was also working 16 hour shifts with little time to cook at home-because I was hardly home and when I was, I was asleep! So life got in the way, and my weight had crept up from 110-127lbs! A whopping 17 pound weight gain over a period of one year! I decided to take some before pictures and transform my body in April. At this point, I was back on my health kick, I bought a juicer, and started juicing (best decision ever!). This time, I did not just want to lose weight, I wanted to TONE and GAIN a little muscle. I ended up losing 7lbs and I was happy at 120lbs-it was the PERFECT weight for me. I was lifting weights and doing cardio 3 times a week and loving it!

Then, in May, I found out I was pregnant with my first baby :)
I didnt let this get in the way! I used this opportunity to not "eat for two" and to not "sleep my day away." I kept on with the gym, lifting and running. My starting pre-pregnancy weight was 120lbs and now almost 12 weeks later, I am still the same weight. I credit healthy eating and working out for this! Luckily, I have had a very healthy first trimester-I rarely got sick, but when I did feel a little nauseous, I pushed through it and STILL went to the gym. I was so tired some days but I STILL went to the gym. I didnt use my pregnancy as an excuse to splurge on every bad food in sight!

And here I am today, taking my progress photos for my transformation and I can honestly say I look better pregnant now, than I did not pregnant in April! The biggest piece of advice I can give you is to LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! Dont stop doing things that you did before you were pregnant, just because you are pregnant!... Unless of course they involve abdominal trauma or sports where you get hit or fall down lol.

Crazy isnt?? I plan to keep on this route. I know pregnancy will put on some pounds and change my body-its inevitable. However, this will make it easier to bounce back after baby. I will take another set of photos at the end of my 2nd trimester to track my transformation.
