5 Skinny Margaritas for Cinco De Mayo

Cinco De Mayo is right around the corner and what's a better way to celebrate than with a traditional margarita? After all, there will be margarita specials galore across thousands of Mexican restaurants in the US this time of year. However, do not give into the 2 for 1 deals just yet-the average margarita packs around 300-500 calories depending on the ounces you choose! Your best bet is to host your own Cinco De Mayo party and make your margaritas at home!

Here are 5 yummy recipes to try:

1. Strawberry Peach Margarita
  • 5 medium frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 ripe peach, peeled and chopped
  • 1 ounce tequila
  • 1/2 cup crushed ice
  • 3 ounces sparkling water
Place all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth.

2. Lemon Lime Margarita
  • 3 ounces Sparkling ICE Lemon Lime
  • 1 1/2 ounces tequila
  • Fresh squeezed orange juice
  • Fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 1 lime slice, for garnish
Shake first four ingredients and pour into a chilled rocks glass rimmed with salt. Garnish with lime slice.

3. Banana Margarita
  • 1 oz DaVinci Sugar Free Banana Syrup
  • 1 oz gold tequila
  • 1/2 oz triple sec
  • 3/4 oz lemon juice
  • 1/4 mashed banana
Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth and pour into a margarita glass. Serve with a lemon juice dipped banana slice.

4. Peach Margarita
  • 1oz. tequila
  • 1 oz. peach schnapps
  • 1 oz. lemon juice
  • 1 dash grenadine syrup
Pour tequila, schnapps, and lemon juice over ice in a margarita glass. Add grenadine, stir slightly, and serve. If you wish to blend, throw all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

5. Watermelon Margarita
  • 16 oz seeded, blended watermelon
  • 1/2 lime
  • 6oz tequila
  • 3 oz triple sec
  • 1 tbsp Stevia
Cut up a watermelon, removing the seeds. Liquefy the watermelon in a blender until you have about 16oz. Add the remaining ingredients, top with ice, and blend until smooth. Serve in a margarita glass with a Stevia coated rim.
